1858 Ltd Art Advisory was established in 2004 by Viola Raikhel-Bolot and Harvey Mendelson in response to an unmet demand for independent and impartial advice when transacting in the art market.

Today, 1858 is recognised as a pioneer in the development of Art Wealth Management Services and Fashion & Luxury Brand Collaborations. The firm is regularly called upon by collectors, museums and the financial services industry around the globe for market intelligence and guidance.

In recognition of the increasing demand from Forbes 500 clients internationally, Céline Fressart joined the firm in 2010 to expand the group across Germany and France.
